Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO is the UK’s No.1 advertising agency, with more than thirty years’ experience providing break-through communications solutions for our clients’ brands. We have experience of working on Government & COI business, producing campaigns for DEFRA (Carbon Emissions), DfT (Road Safety) and DoH (Anti-smoking). Other clients include BT, BBC, Guinness, Sainsbury’s, Mars and the RSPCA, as well as a number of small charities. Although primarily an advertising agency, we are in the business of ideas which stretch beyond the traditional media, with in-house digital capabilities and group companies who can provide PR, publishing, media strategy & planning, and media buying services.
The Make Poverty History campaign in 2005 is a clear illustration of this. AMV created a brand that united 120 charities to raise awareness, gain support and put pressure on the G8 leaders to help the world’s poorest countries. The campaign lasted over a ten-month period, with high-profile events, the involvement of major cultural and political figures, and on-line activity, underpinned by impactful TV & print advertising, and culminating in the Live8 concert in Hyde Park. Over 20 million people showed their support for the campaign, and the effects of the activity still resonate on the global stage today.
A good idea goes a long way.
