  • Tactics

    • Listen to the performance tracks first

    • Practise speaking the tongue twister out loud to get your mouths working around all the words. Really focus on the diction.

    • Use the performance and echo tracks to help you learn the melody.

    • As you get more confident, increase the tempo. See how fast you can go without making a mistake!

    • Repeat the warm-up ad lib.

    Extended activities

    • This warm-up uses the tune of London’s burning, which you can find in the Song Bank. As with the song, you could perform this warm-up as a round. Your group will have to concentrate hard not to be put off by the other parts!

    • Can you create your own four-syllable tongue twister to this tune?

    • Try using other scat sounds (eg. ‘doo’, ‘bop’ etc), or sing through the consonants in the alphabet (see Alphabetical consonant warm-up for ideas) as a variation to the tongue twister.
