This year we're especially excited to let you know that we're collaborating with Trinity College London and supporting schools taking part in Sing Up Day to achieve Arts Award Discover.

What is Arts Award?

Arts Award is a portfolio of qualifications, for schools in the UK, fit for those up to the age of 25 which supports growing artists and art leaders by challenging and inspiring them to explore the wider arts world. Arts Award's are flexible which means which ever medium the pupil chooses, from fashion to film-making, from dance to design and photography to poetry, young people are always in the driving seat. Sing Up Day 2020 will provide a fantastic opportunity for pupils in schools taking part in Sing Up Day to achieve Arts Award Discover. Partnering with Trinity College London means we are able to have an exclusive offer for you to take advantage of this year.

Arts Award Discover

The Discover award is designed for those aged five and above. Upon completion, the pupil taking part will have been involved in practical music making, listening to live music, doing research, finding out about musicians that inspire them, and sharing what they’ve learnt. As they go the pupils collect evidence of their musical Arts Award journey. ‘Discover’ is the very first of the series of Awards, it can be completed in one day and is ‘assessed’ by the school or Hubs Art Awards Adviser.

How it works

You can offer Arts Award to young people if you are a music/singing leader, class teacher, choir leader, youth worker, or project manager, for example. For each group of young people doing Arts Award Discover at least one person needs to be trained as an Arts Award Discover & Explore adviser working with a registered Arts Award centre. If your school, music hub, or organisation is already an Arts Award centre you order your certificates as usual, but use the Sing Up discount code of SingUp2020.

If you would like to become an Arts Award centre a member of your staff or team can attend a half day training costing £150. Public courses are available nationwide all year round - find out more at artsaward.org.uk/training.

Music Services, music education hubs, and groups, clusters or federations of schools with 6 or more people to train can request in-house training to take place at the time, date and venue of your choice. This is a cost effective option for groups of six+.

Terms and Conditions:

  1. Certificates must be requested during the period 1 January 2020 – 31 July 2020 to qualify for the discount rate.
  2. Trinity reserves the right to withdraw this offer at any time.

  4. You need to be a trained Arts Award adviser linked to an active centre to qualify for the offer.
  5. Offer code must be provided at the time of confirming names.
  6. The discount code entitles customers to access Discover certificates for £3.05 per child, rather than the standard £4 (representing a per child saving of 24%)
