  • Tactics

    • Listen to the performance tracks to hear how the warm up works.

    • Use the performance tracks to help you learn the movement in the tune. Take care over the intervals to get them clean.

    • Once you are happy with the intervals, try singing the “ordinal” numbers (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.) or the numbers in a different language.  The example uses French but any language could be used.

    Extended activities

    • Try varying the start note (eg. a semitone higher) so you can extend your range upwards.

    • Try experimenting with the intervals.  You could try splitting into two groups, one singing all the 1s and the other group doing the 2, 3, 4, etc. or you could have the teacher call out a particular number or combination of numbers (eg. 1,3) and see if you can pitch them correctly.
