Quick guide to Songs & Teaching Resources

Songs & Teaching Resources includes the Song Bank, Teaching Tools and Voice Box. To explore each of these resource sections, select the tabs at the top of the page.

Song Bank
Song Bank is a library of hundreds of songs, all with audio tracks and activities for you to use as part of your teaching.

How to find songs
Songs are listed alphabetically by title. We’ve created filters so you can search by Key Stage, Year Group and subject, among other things. You can listen to each song, download it, or click the song title to view more details. You can also use the search bar to search for any word within a song title.

Song details and resources
Click the song title to visit its page. Each song has lyrics, song sheets, teaching guides and audio files. Some songs will have extra resources, for example instrumental parts or video clips.

How to access files
To access files, you may need some software installed on your computer, which can all be downloaded free from the internet.

  • To listen to audio clips, install Windows Media Player, QuickTime or iTunes.
  • To view the PDF song sheets, install Adobe Acrobat Reader.
  • To use the Scorch song sheets, install the Scorch plug-in application.
  • All our video clips are hosted by YouTube, so you shouldn’t need any additional software – just click and the clip should play in your web browser window.

How to download
Select the 'Songs' area and search for the song you require, refining your search with the left hand navigational bar, as needed. When you have identified your song, select 'Audio Track', then the type of track or resource you need.

A file download box will appear. Choose 'Save' or 'Open'. If you select 'Open', remember that this will only save automatically into a temporary file! If you would like to save this file onto your desktop, please select 'Save' instead, and choose where on your computer you would like this file to be stored.
