Song Writer Biography

Jenny Beeching

Jenny Beeching is a music specialist/songwriter working in primary schools in the London Borough of Newham. Many of her songs are written with the children using their ideas. Consequently many of the songs are topic-based and often have strong links across the National Curriculum. Her songs have been performed in front of two prime ministers as well as on radio and television both here and abroad and at many prestigious events including the International School Awards, The London Teaching Awards and many Olympic Ceremonies. A video of one of her songs is currently on the Marks and Spencers Plan A website and some of her songs are to be used in an English course book for school children in Lithuania. She has recorded four CDs of songs with Newham Schools. Click here to visit her website.

My Year 1 Class integrated this song into our assembly on Forces. I felt the song was really up to date music wise, created a lot of excitement and helped secure their understanding of forces.
