Words and Music by Jenny Beeching
A cat sat on a mat,
A cat sat on a mat.
Miaow, miaow, miaow, miaow, miaow,
Miaow, miaow, miaow, miaow, miaow.
All the animals that we know,
We watch them come and we watch them go.
And as they pass we say, ‘hello!’
At the animal show.
A bee sat on a tree,
A bee sat on a tree.
Buzz, buzz, a-buzz, buzz, buzz,
A-buzz, buzz, buzz, buzz, buzz.
All the animals that we know,
We watch them come and we watch them go.
And as they pass we say, ‘hello!’
At the animal show.
A frog sat on a log,
A frog sat on a log.
Croak, croak, a-croak, croak, croak,
A-croak, croak, croak, croak, croak.
All the animals that we know,
We watch them come and we watch them go.
And as they pass we say, ‘hello!’
At the animal show.
A bear sat on a chair,
A bear sat on a chair.
Growl, growl, growl, growl, growl,
Growl, growl, growl, growl, growl.
All the animals that we know,
We watch them come and we watch them go.
And as they pass we say, ‘hello!’
At the animal show.
A fly flew in the sky,
A fly flew in the sky.
Zzz, zzz, zzz, zzz, zzz,
Zzz, zzz, zzz, zzz, zzz.
All the animals that we know,
We watch them come and we watch them go.
And as they pass we say, ‘hello!’
At the animal show.
A bull sat on a stool,
A bull sat on a stool.
Moo, moo, moo, moo, moo,
Moo, moo, moo, moo, moo.
All the animals that we know,
We watch them come and we watch them go.
And as they pass we say, ‘hello!’
At the animal show.
All the animals that we know,
We watch them come and we watch them go.
And as they pass we say, ‘hello!’
At the animal show.

Her songs have been performed in front of two prime ministers as well as on radio and television both here and abroad and at many prestigious events including the International School Awards, The London Teaching Awards and many Olympic Ceremonies. A video of one of her songs is currently on the Marks and Spencers Plan A website and some of her songs are to be used in an English course book for school children in Lithuania. Take along other puppets and make up new verses with the children:
A lamb sat in a pram............ Baa, baa, baa, baa.
A mouse sat in a house ............. scratch, scratch, scratch, scratch.

What a great song! brilliant for rhyme, and the children love exploring tempo and dynamics through the verses. thank you
