The role of Area Leader is to work with organisations and individuals to build and develop a skilled, enthusiastic vocal leadership workforce for primary school-aged children, through a nationwide programme of training and professional development activities, so that all primary aged children can participate in healthy, musical singing everyday. Area Leaders might be local organisations or individuals.
Each area is different so leaders are there to find out what training needs exist where you are, and put you in touch with exisitng opportunities or perhaps create new training to meet the needs of your area. They'll also be finding out about what's happening with singing in your town or county so they can share examples of best practice between your area and the rest of the country.
