Well, we were involved again! Another very successful event:On Friday, we hosted a National Sing Up Day event at Hendal Primary School. Four local schools - St James, Dane Royd, West Bretton and ourselves - came together for a workshop rehearsal in the afternoon, followed by a packed evening performance. The piece was writen by a local composer Alan Simmons, and is called 'Olympics!' Over one hundred children sang their hearts out, showing tremendous talent and professionalism. The extremely high standard continued with the dancers and soloists. For the evening performance we were joined by local actor, director and teacher Pete Hirst, as our narrator. The entire audience was moved by the quality of the performance from every person on stage. We were also able to have the Olympic flag which had been handed over at the end of the Bejing Paralympic games.

This was a true reflection of the spirit of the Olympics - a coming together in celebration of talent. As one member of the audience put it,

"It was totally uplifting! What a fantastic event!"

We all enjoyed our special Singup Assembly on Friday. Each class sang their chosen song and the whole school joined in with 'John Kanakanaka' which was great!

Hi Mrs Adams,

We try to check and approve all events as soon as they come in, so it shouldn't take longer than a day at most. Your event should be showing up on the map now. Good luck - and don't forget to let us know how it goes!
