Star Challenges

Our challenge, if you accept it, is to sing as much as possible on National Sing Up Day, February 9th 2011

We've come up with a list of Star Challenges that you and your group can complete on National Sing Up Day. There are four different levels to the challenges (1, 5, 10 and 20), which you can explore using the buttons on the left and keep track of on your very own challenge card.

If you send your challenge card back to us (nsud@singup.org) showing a total of 50 Star Challenges completed, we'll send you a limited edition door plaque (like the one displayed below) for your classroom or hall*.

You can send up to five pieces of evidence and they can be anything from pictures to video to audio to a set list for your concert.

Let us know what you’re doing to celebrate National Sing Up Day in the comments below or by add your events to our interactive map. We love hearing from you!

Don't forget, your singing activity on National Sing Up Day could help you qualify for a Sing Up Award. Read more about Awards here.

* Also by submitting your recordings, lyrics, photos and/or videos, you are giving Sing Up permission to use them on the Sing Up website without payment. You agree that Sing Up shall have full discretion as to the manner of usage on the website, and you acknowledge that Sing Up disclaims any responsibility or liability in the event that your material is used by third parties.

Hi Mrs Jones,

If you're having difficulty with sending evidence it is fine for you to send a list outlining what challenges you completed to: nsud@singup.org

Hope this helps!

Thank for the great ideas - we had a really enjoyable day and singing has achieved a new status across the school.

However, we've had loits of difficulties trying to send our evidence, and have noted the deadline is Monday! Please help,

Mrs Connolly

How are you meant to fill in the Challenge cards? It will not let me type into it. Are we just meant to send an email with attached evidence.

Hi Miss Hodgson,

Great to hear you had a super Sing Up Day! It doesn't qualify for the star challenges but a singing assembly can be put towards a Sing Up Award! Email our awards team at awards@singup.org

We at Mary Exton in Hitchin, had a great day singing today. We tried the song relay across the whole school and it worked really well. The children all came together in assembly later in the day to sing the song they had learned together - it sounded great! It was great to have so many people getting involved. Our Songleaders worked so hard today - i was very proud of them!

We had a brilliant day also - lots of people that didn't realise they would enjoy it as much as they did! Reiterating the question about being able to email evidence.....? And also, we had a whole school singing assembly with children staff, governors and parents - there isn't a specific mention about such an event in the star challenges - any ideas if we can obtain any points for this or not?!

Thanks muchly

We've had a fantastic day singing at every available opportunity - even got the dinner ladies involved! Local radio station visited today and is featuring our singing in their school of the week slot every day next week!!

Hi all!

Yes! You can send evidence through after NSUD, but it must reach us on Monday 14th at the latest. And yes, you do need to send through evidence to claim your door plaque – it is better if it’s a variety but it doesn’t have to be! Please remember that if you are sending us photos, you must obtain parental permission for the photos to be used by us.

You can post evidence to:

Sing Up

1 America Street

SE1 0NE

London

Hello, do we need to send evidence in order to complete the star challenge and get the plaque? We have a number of parents who do not give their permission for photos / videos of their children to be used by others...

Is there a deadline for sending the challenge card back to you to get the plaque? Can the forms of evidence all be the same - can we send 5 photographs or would we need to send a variety of evidence? Many thanks.

Hi Miss Wood,

We like to keep things simple here at Sing Up so you're right, you can't actually edit the PDF - but what you can do is print it out, write in the details of your activities and then either post it back to us, or scan and email it through.

Hi, can you tell me how we can add our activities to the challenge card in order to it email back. It doesn't seem possible to add any comments as it is in PDF format. Thanks
