First National Sing Up Day: a roaring success - Music Manifesto News

The UK was united in song yesterday (24 February) as the first ever National Sing Up Day got underway in spectacular fashion.

With 83% (and counting!) of primary schools now engaged with Sing Up, the Music Manifesto's national singing programme, students across the length and breadth of Britain got into the groove and enjoyed the myriad benefits of belting out a tune; improved confidence, concentration and behaviour, not to mention lots of fun.

Activities included a beatboxing training day in Bradford, a flight-themed sing-along in Bristol and a mass musical gathering in the centre of Manchester.

What's more, all participating schools were invited to record their own versions of the new partner songs using Pure Solo, a new instant recording technology. Sing Up will take every recording that is submitted and combine them to create a mass choral effect; schools that send their recordings in by 26 March will get their own copy of the finished result.
