It was amazing to see 32 Year 6's storm Coppergate in York, donned in Sing Up T-shirts, caps and badges. They sang some specially written Viking songs from the School Trip Singalong.
This was the penultimate stop for the Sing Up School Trip Singalong bus, which has made its way from the
Eden Project in Cornwall, through various attractions, to serenade visitors at the Jorvik Viking Centre in York.
Pupils from Wigginton Primary School approached the Jorvik Viking Centre singing Longship Round and
Viking settlement song and were met by a costumed Viking.
Everyone loved the ride inside the Jorvik Viking Centre. It took them through the streets and houses of a Viking settlement. Two pupils, Poppy and Kiera, were amazed at the what they saw, but were quite thankful for the creature comforts they enjoy at home.
The final destination for the Singalong bus will be Chester Zoo. Watch this space for another exciting report.
Singing is a great way to learn on your school trips. To find activity ideas, songs and advice, check out our School Trip Singalong pages now.

York, the most important city in the North of England was invaded by Vikings from the late 8th to the mid-11th century. TheJorvik Centre demonstrates this with some great historic findings and exhibitions. During their stay they built a small city where Jorvik Viking Centre is just on the very site.
