Singing in the Cathedral

Voices from Briary Primary School ring out in Canterbury

Singing in the Cathedral

Pupils from Briary Primary School in Kent joined the Singalong Bus as it made the journey to Canterbury Cathedral.

Thirty Year 5 and 6's performed Row in the Cathedral which tells the story of the assassination of Saint Thomas Becket.

Music Coordinator Denise Parratt said 'It is their favourite song. It is really visual and provides a potted history of Canterbury Cathedral.'

Mrs Parratt said that the whole school had been learning the songs in their singing assemblies, from year 2 - 6.

Sing Up Area Leader Hazel Addley and pupils from Briary Primary also featured live on BBC Radio Kent.

After a haunting rendition of Wonder and mystery, performed inside the Cathedral, pupils were treated to a fascinating guided tour.

Next, the Singalong bus will be heading to Jorvik Viking Centre on the 21st June, so stay tuned for our next update!
