The Girlguide singing finale

The Sing Up Girlguide training draws to a close - but the legacy will live on!

The Girlguide singing finale

Sharing singing has long been a tradition in the 100 year history of the Girlguides. It’s great to hear that 3 Guide units will be partaking in their final Sing Up training on May 9th to keep this tradition alive!

The project, a partnership between Girlguides and East Kent Sing Up Community, aims to train young champions to lead singing in their Divisions. There have been numerous training events, including a two day residential in Gillwell Park, Chingford at the end of February.

Beth, one of the Guides, is excited about her new found skills. ‘I feel more confident and I am ready to teach other brownies and Guides. I have learnt so much!

Project leader, Julie Larner, is excited about the future. ‘We now have a team of over 20 singing champions across 3 guide areas. Not only that, we've established clear pathways for sustaining the project beyond our county’.
