Sing Up and cutting edge Manchester theatre venue, Contact, are hosting a challenging and stimulating free national event focusing on the subject of Beatboxing, and its wide ranging application in formal and informal education sectors.
Workshops, presentations, performances and discussions are happening throughout the day, followed by an evening of sharing and celebration led by high profile practitioners and experts. Highlights include:
- Key note speeches by Beatboxers and educationalists Jason Singh and Baba Israel (Contact’s Artistic Director)
- Day and evening events featuring Hobbit (UK),
Bellatrix (UK),
Mat Sokell (UK),
Kid Lucky (USA) and Contact Playback
- Featuring BAC Beatbox Academy, London, GMMAZ and Contact
- Debate on the uses of contemporary voice work in educational settings
- Beatboxing across the curriculum
Who is this event for?
Anyone who works with primary-aged children or Young Leaders who is interested in learning about using Beatboxing in their work or further developing their skills, and confidence, and would like to contribute to shaping the future use of this art form in an educational context.
