An essential FREE event for all those working with looked after children, providing delegates with a unique insight into how music can transform young lives. Hosted by Youth Music.

Who should participate? Anyone with a professional interest in meeting the needs of looked after children from across the public, private and voluntary sectors.
Delegates will:
- Learn about the latest findings and evidence from a range of national research projects
- Be provided with know-how and practical tips to help them develop and commission effective music projects
- Have the opportunity to inform Youth Music’s policy in this area through discussion and debate

- Professor Pat Petrie, Centre for Understanding Social Pedagogy, Institute of Education
- Dr. Douglas Lonie, Research and Evaluation Manager, Youth Music
- Dr. Alison Daubney, freelance music education researcher
- Lucy Stone, Strategic Director, Rhythmix
- Young people from Surrey Care Council talking about their positive experiences with music
The event will include discussion and performances by young musicians. Webcast participants will be able to submit questions and comments.
