£4 million funding for Sing Up announced

Government confirms Sing Up’s financial settlement for the coming year

£4 million funding for Sing Up announced

Following the Government’s stated intention to support Sing Up for a further year, we are pleased to report that the Government has confirmed a £4 million investment for 2011/2012.

We will be using this investment to:

  • Sustain and develop the Sing Up resources including the website and Song Bank, and create new resources for working with children in transition from pre-school and to secondary school.
  • Sustain and develop the provision of the Sing Up Training Programme and Sing Up Awards
  • Sustain and develop our relationships with schools, enabling the sharing of best practice.
  • Work with all our key partners and providers to build on the strong local and sub-regional networks that have already been established.

Baz Chapman, Sing Up’s Programme Director said:

“This investment is a great testament to the impact and value of the programme we’ve all worked so hard on for the last three and a half years. We are now looking forward to using the coming year to continue to grow and develop Sing Up, enabling it to have a sustainable future.”
