The Makaton Charity exists to ensure that everyone living with learning and/ or communication disabilities has the tools and resources they need to communicate.
Makaton uses signs, symbols and speech to help people to communicate. Being able to communicate eases frustration and gives children and adults confidence, a feeling of well-being, social skills including turn-taking etc, emotional development, language skills and independence.

I think sing up is brilliant. Thank you for these amazing resources. Please would you consider putting videos of Makaton signs for some secondary age group songs. The nursery rhymes are great, but not appropriate for 11-18 students at my school. We're a secondary school for children who have learning difficulties. Many of our students use Makaton and lots love singing. We have signed a few of your secondary songs and would be very happy to work with you on this if you're interested...

can't wait to get this up on the whiteboard in nursery for my first real attempt at using it with the children (as opposed to just putting up a slideshow of their photos!) we use Makaton for instructions all the time and this sort of thing will make it fun too
