February 9th draws ever nearer. Have your vocal warm-ups ready, because this year’s celebrations promise to reach far and wide!
This year’s National Sing Up Day promises to be more tuneful than ever as thousands of schools around the country celebrate their love of singing with an abundance of special events.
Groups can choose from an array of Star Challenges to be completed on National Sing Up Day. Notch up 50 and we’ll send you a limited edition door plaque for your classroom or hall! Challenges include solving the Sing Up Song Jumble, creating a rap or chant, learning to sign a song and getting your dinner ladies singing! We want to make sure every corridor in the country is bursting with melody.
As we count down to the most harmonious day of the year, schools are planning their own events which can be followed on our interactive map. You can add your school’s celebrations and see what others are doing to mark this exciting day.
Here are just some of the wonderful things happening:
- At Goldbeaters Primary School in Edgware, each year group will learn a Sing Up song and perform it to the rest of the school.
- Christ Church CE Primary School in Birkenhead is having a whole-day singathon!
- Constantine Primary School in Cornwall is hosting a non-stop singing day, and will be joined by three other schools. When the children break to eat their picnic lunches, they will be entertained by the sweet sound of staff singing!
- Countless schools countrywide have taken part in the Awards Challenge, and will be celebrating their achievements on National Sing Up Day. Schools that have recently completed their awards in time for 9th February will receive special resources to help them celebrate in Sing Up style!
It’s not too late for your school to ‘spread a little singing’! We've got 300 registered events already, and counting!
