Hi Everyone

At St. Thomas’ C.E.P school in Blackburn we had a brilliant National Sing Up Day. We organised a ‘Singing Squares’ event and invited three other schools to join us. Our school hall brimmed with infant children and a goodly number of adults singing, clapping and jiggling about in various rhythmical ways. It was a fabulous afternoon with approximately 120 children from diverse schools enjoying the simple pleasure of singing together – everyone went home promising to come again next year.

The best bit about this event was that it was the first one of four we have arranged - we had to organise four events because everyone we spoke to about it was interested and our single afternoon idea spiralled into four afternoons for 500 children from 4 – 11 years of age!

The icing on our cake was Stella Jackson who was able to play any odd tune we plucked from the air on the piano as well as lead us all with a very entertaining penguin song!

Thank you everyone for coming and making this event so enjoyable
