Drake Music has helped to make our Song Bank even more accessible

Check out our SEN resources!

Drake Music has created accessible singing resources for 15 songs from the Sing Up Song Bank, useful for children with a range of disabilities, especially those with communication difficulties or physical disabilities.

There are two kinds of resources available: electronic communication aid resources for disabled children, and reference material containing ideas for those leading the singing sessions.

As well as singing set-ups for Clicker 5 software and a range of different VOCAs (Voice Output Communication Aids), each song comes with two short documents containing ideas that relate directly to that particular song, such as how to use the resource and example scenarios for singing sessions.

Alex Ivanovich from Drake Music is looking forward to the new possibilities this represents for open participation in singing:

“I am excited because these resources and techniques make it possible for many SEN and disabled young people to participate independently in singing for the very first time. They are already being used in a number of schools around the country, and the list is growing all the time. By using the approaches and singing setups, teachers and singing leaders can really explore their students' musical potential.”

To access these new resources simply search the Song Bank for Clicker 5, VOCA, singing ideas under the SEN/Accessibility tab.

To get an idea of how the resources can be used, why not watch the Drake Music film on our You Tube channel?
