Tis the season to be singing! Every school likes to put on a festive concert, but how about two days of celebration? Horbury Bridge School are doing exactly that.
Each year they organises a Christingle Service, in which the children sing traditional hymns and carols as well some of the more unusual ones. They also have a craft and activities fair the day before. All the money raised will go to Children in Need’s Children’s Society Annual Appeal.
Meryl Smith, the Deputy Head at Horbury says the event is always popular with parents, grandparents, neighbours and the wider community. It has an ‘amazing atmosphere when the whole church is a glow with candlelight’.
