So, you’ve got your own page on our new-look site. As an Area Leader what can you offer teachers and leaders in your region?
I’m able to offer training opportunities, and advice on the Sing Up Awards. Working with Surrey Arts means I have a wealth of knowledge of singing opportunities in Surrey, so I can answer their queries and point them in the right direction.
Part of the Area Leaders’ job is spreading the word of Sing Up through the regions. What types of personal training are you hoping to achieve?
I’m arranging twilight training sessions for teachers throughout Surrey both this term and next to help build their confidence and add to their bank of resources. There will also be some bigger training events booked for next term and beyond – so watch this space!
What are you looking forward to the most in your new role?
The wonderful thing about my role as Area Leader is the opportunity to see so much fantastic singing that is already happening in Surrey’s schools. There are some great young singers and practitioners out there, and lots of teachers wanting to take advantage of the training we’re offering. I’m looking forward to continuing to spread the word that singing schools are happy and successful schools! It’s marvellous!
