Singing for all: The Constantine Community Choir

Find out how a Platinum school is inspiring their community

Singing for all: The Constantine Community Choir

Platinum schools always go that extra mile to sing throughout the school day. A special Sing Up ‘hooray’ goes to Alison Churchley of Constantine School, Cornwall, who is spreading singing into the local community.  She has set up the Constantine Community Choir, a fantastic initiative which encourages all members of the community to get together and sing.

Alison and Marian Saunders, one of the school governors, came up with the idea for a choir ‘where the only qualification required is enthusiasm.’ The choir was instantly a massive hit with the locals; ‘Our excitement when people started streaming through the doors was immense.’ Alison told us. ‘So many people came we had to find more chairs!’

Alison chose the songs from the Magazines and uses vocal warm ups she’s learnt at Training workshops. Although their first rehearsal was only on the 4th of October, they have already started getting bookings. We look forward to hearing from them soon.
