Re-invent an old festive classic

We love hearing teachers and pupils showcasing their singing. That’s why we've launched a Christmas competition - with an exciting twist!

Your challenge, if you choose to accept it, is to completely re-invent the festive favourite Jingle bells, coming up with new contemporary lyrics for 2010. We’re looking for the most inventive lyrics and entries will be judged by an expert panel.

Logged in users can use the Sing & Share Area of our website to record their class or choir singing it to the tune of Jingle bells.

Winners will have their song featured on our website, a filmed performance of the song featured on our YouTube channel and will also get specially customised Sing Up merchandise to commemorate their win.

Entries, with accompanying lyrics, should be sent to competition@singup.org or post it to: Sing Up Christmas Competition, One America Street, London, SE1 0NE*.

The entries we’ve received so far are definitely better than our version:

Jingle bells, Batman smells, Robin laid an egg.
The Batmobile lost its wheel. The Joker got away – hey!

The deadline for entries is Friday 10th December 2010, so don’t delay!
