Pupils join the Singing Celebration in Sheffield

Pupils join the Singing Celebration in Sheffield

150 pupils from Primary Schools in North East Sheffield will be joining in the celebration of young people’s music and the work of the Music Service at the Magna Science and Adventure Centre on the 1st and 2nd November.

They will be performing songs written by Sing Up Advocate and workshop leader Lin Marsh. The songs were learnt in a joint project between Sing Up and the Sheffield Music Service. Teachers from 10 local schools attended a day long workshop and the pupils were then brought together to learn the songs. Following this they practised with their teachers for 7 weeks and returned to fine tune their performance with Lin.

Of the 10 schools, 6 are working with the Music Service to complete their Silver Sing Up Award.

The concert will also feature other young musicians from Sheffield and a musical tour of the Magna Centre.

For more information on the concert or to buy a ticket contact Helen Saunders at the Music Service: helen.saunders@sheffield.gov.uk
