Hundreds of children in the Midlands have raised their voices and experienced a range of international musical styles thanks to Funded Programme, Sing Up Handsworth.
The Sing Up Community is lead by Black Voices, an experienced professional female ensemble of national reputation. Their Sing Up Sing Out project aims to provide young people in Birmingham and Midlands with the opportunity to work with world music professionals covering a range of cultural and musical expressions and traditions.
As you can see from the pictures, everyone involved had a great time. Over the past two terms nearly 1,000 children and teachers attended workshops and some performed in Cannon Hill Park as part of the Big Sing event. One child was even overheard saying the session they attended was the best thing they’d done at school - ever!
