Sing Up partners, MusicLeader.net have teamed up with Mencap to produce a practitioners guide to leading music with people who have learning disabilities.
The guide aims to encourage music as a way of freedom, aspiration and achievement within the sector. MusicLeader.net Assistant, Valerie Barraclough knows it will be a hit. ‘It's great to be able to offer this compact guide to music leaders across the country. Leaders of all backgrounds and levels of experience will benefit!’
The pack is being launched at the Inclusion Inspires event at Symphony Hall, Birmingham next week. The event is a forum for those involved in Special Needs education, sharing stories and best practice. Guests will include Sing Up collaborator, and Youth Music chairman Richard Stilgoe.
You can download the guide from the Music Leader website.
