Congratulations! How does it feel?
Very exciting, especially as we are one of only 35 schools in the country! Our Music Specialist has championed us throughout. When the endorsers came to assess us, all of our hard work paid off - it was a wonderful day!
Do you have any advice for Headteachers who haven’t heard of Sing Up or are reluctant to sing?
Just visit the site! The Song Bank is full of songs that relate to the curriculum. If learning can become fun through singing then what is a better reason than that?
How have other teachers reacted to Sing Up?
We have a culture of loving music here and all of our teaching staff are very much involved! Every class has lessons with our Music Specialist and teachers learn the songs too.
Have you noticed any pupils that have grown in confidence through singing?
A soloist in our Platinum Award singing assembly is not the best-behaved individual and has low self-esteem, but it’s an absolute joy to see him singing confidently to the school.
Do you sing a lot during the day?
I love singing! It’s great to hear the children and I always learn the songs too!
