i run an after school choir for children aged 7-13 from lots of different schoolsin the area. We would like to join with other children to sing at events around and outside our area but, because I am free-lance and do not work for the local authority I don’t seem to hear about what’s happening. The events posted on your website seem to be mostly staff training. Please could you give me some idea of events in which the choir could join?
Thanks,
Kate Davies

I think the best place will be to a private choir in a leisure centre, if not possible then maybe try out a private tutor or teacher, the closer to London, the easier it will be to find one. I hope you will find this information useful

Hi Kate
The focus of Sing Up is staff training workforce development and resources rather than direct work with children and choirs. If you contact your Area Leader they may be able to point you towards events which choirs can join in with. Music Leader is also a great place to keep an eye on as well. Your local music service should also have events happening throughout the year such as showcases/big sings etc. Again, your Area Leader should be able to help.

Hi Janice,
Haven’t seen you for ages, hope you are well?!
We’ve been busy as usual with every member of staff now using the Sing Up website as part of their every day routine. We’ve also earned our Silver Sing Up Award and following a full days workshop with Matt Baker, I even managed to get the staff to sing. They were so impressed with their achievements that they recently performed for the children and their parents at our own Summer Music Festival. They were amazing and the children and I were so proud of them!
In September we plan to start the academic year with Singing and Signing songs to ensure inclusion for the 3 children starting with us, who use Makaton. Please could you let me know if there is any training comming up that would beneifit the staff.
Many thanks,
Sharon x

Does anyone know what type of training workshops/regular choir activities that are currently taking place across North Hertfordshire ie towns such as Stevenage, Hitchin, Letchworth, Baldock etc?
I am interested in gaining some useful training workshop ideas or ’shadowing’ current tutors to get an idea of how to deliver such activities myself….

Hi,
I would like to know if there is a leader for my area of Worcester please – or any activities in this area? The map is showing there is, but nothing comes up.

Is there going to be any training in Suffolk any time soon? The nearest I can see is Cambridge on here (March) at the moment and that’s over an hours drive away.
Many thanks.

Hi,
Do you know if there are any training opportunities planned in the Lancashire area? I’ve had an email to suggest that there might be, but when I’ve looked on here I can’t find anything.
Many thanks, Sophie
