Music and the Deaf is a national programme to encourage all deaf children to find their voice. This may be signing or some other form of communication – all forms of expression are valued and explored.

Music and the Deaf is a Sing Up Flagship project with aims to make a significant and lasting impact on whole schools, including children, teachers and senior management. Its work promotes inclusion for all, and provides support and advice on singing with deaf children and signed song.

Their programme encourages deaf children to sing and vocalise, develop signed song skills, write songs and create opportunities to perform. Music and the Deaf also aims to engage and persuade hearing children to learn to sign songs, and encourage good role models who can show off signing activities.

Music and the Deaf provides practical training for singers, teachers and leaders to work with deaf children, and works with all Sing Up strands to find suitable and productive access for events.
