Sing Up Bristol creates singing opportunities for thousands of children and young people living in east central Bristol.
Based Colston Hall, Bristol's largest concert venue, REMIX is a Youth Music Action Zone and runs Sing Up Bristol projects, encompassing a range of urban musical styles.
REMIX supports schools and grass-roots singing organisations, encouraging singing activities and partnerships. Its projects have directly engaged over 3,500 people, with more than 6,000 young people attending concerts and showcases.
Projects encourage young people from diverse communities to discover and develop their musical interest and skills, particularly children who may have had limited access to music-making.
Sessions address points where singing can play a part in learning and development, including school attainment targets, integration and alternative education.
An exciting, youth-centred approach is integral to Sing Up Bristol’s success, recognising the positive impact of performance and the importance of peer group role models.
