What is Youth Music?
Set up in 1999, Youth Music is the UK’s largest children’s music charity. It promotes music opportunities for young people, working with formal and community-based sectors to support music making.
What work does it do?
Youth Music is one of the National Lottery's great success stories. If funds 23 Youth Music Actions Zones in England and Wales, providing workshops, rehearsals, performances, one-to-one teaching and mentoring.
Youth Music also supports wider aspects of music-making by funding training for music leaders, as well as working bringing together partnership organisations from across the music, education and social sectors.
Youth Music currently manages the Music Mentors programme, a part of the Government's Respect agenda, and a Young Ambassadors Programme to ensure young people have a say in music education.
Youth Music and Sing Up
Youth Music’s role is to oversee the strategic, financial management and funded programmes stand of Sing Up.
